Planning for
INDIVIDUAL
RETREAT

A perfect practice
From which I draw great help
Is to make a retreat
Every year on certain days;
God, speaking to my soul,
Purifies it and sets it aflame.
Montfort Hymn #139

Come away for a retreat at Montfort Centre, whether you are seeking spiritual direction, a time of solitude, or simply a place to recharge your spirit.

While some may prefer a solitary retreat, we recommend embarking on your journey with the support of one of our Spiritual Directors or with your own Spiritual Director. During the course of your retreat, you will meet regularly with a Spiritual Director, who will help give direction for your retreat based on what you need. The Director will listen with you to what God is saying, support you in responding faithfully, and give you further guidance as needed.

Planning Your Retreat

Reflect on your intentions
Consider why you are seeking a retreat. The purpose of a retreat is to draw close to God. Take a moment to reflect on any additional intentions you might want to set. Perhaps you seek to rest in God's presence, to discern a path forward in life, or to simply find quiet amidst the noise of daily life.

Schedule your retreat

Contact us to inquire about our room availability and begin planning your retreat. You can choose a day retreat for a shorter experience or opt to stay with us for up to 5 days and 4 nights.

Packing for your retreat

We provide towels and bar soaps in all rooms for your convenience. However, you may wish to bring your own toiletries to feel more comfortable during your stay. As you prepare, think about what else might support your retreat experience. Consider packing a journal for reflection, spiritual reading materials, a prayer book, or any other items that support your time of contemplation.
