Homecoming to God. Is it possible?
There is a growing desire or emotional or spiritual hunger among people to return to the Source of Life. Our hearts are restless, till they rest in thee, O Lord (St Augustine). Moments of utter dryness or parchment of the heart can be a call from within to seek the real and reliable. In giving us His Son, God the Father gave us the One who, like Him, is good, forgiving and abounding in steadfast love to all who call on him (cf. Psalm 86:5). In this forgiving heart, God the Father never strikes the sinner, this heart calms his anger, obtains his grace and favour (Montfort Hymn 40:21).
Yes, I will arise and return home to my Father – the place of forgiveness (cf. Luke 15:18).
